Los ciudadanos de Genk fueron invitados a participar en un picnic dominical en el Terril Winterslag con el objetivo de realizar ejercicios de libre expresión en el paisaje utilizando ladrillos, que ya estaban disponibles en el lugar elegido para el happening.
En las semanas siguientes, la gente que suele visitar el sitio comenzó a modificar las palabras, los dibujos y las construcciones que se hicieron durante el picnic. Se trata de una obra de arte (pública) con vida propia, definida y transformada por los ciudadanos: desde entonces, esta pieza se encuentra en constante cambio, manteniendo su autonomía, anonimato y libertad de expresión.
The citizens of Genk were invited to participate in a Sunday picnic at the Terril Winterslag with the aim of performing free expression exercises in the landscape using bricks, which were already available at the site chosen for the happening.
In the following weeks, people who usually visit the site began to modify the words, drawings and constructions that were made during the picnic. This is a (public) work of art with a life of its own, defined and transformed by the citizens: since then, this piece has been in constant change, maintaining its autonomy, anonymity and freedom of expression.
