El origen de la idea surgió de una reflexión muy sencilla sobre esta forma de casa tan simbólica, que para las culturas occidentales es una imagen icónica que aprendemos desde muy pequeños para referirnos a la casa o al hogar. Veo esa forma básica de casa como algo sencillo pero cargado de simbolismo cultural humano.
Pero cuando vemos casas con esa forma, lo último que pensamos es que se trata de una construcción orgánica natural. Lo primero que probablemente pensamos es que es una estructura no orgánica, hecha por el hombre, industrializada, pero si repensamos un poco somos un animal más de este mundo, todas las cosas que estamos produciendo y creando (incluso las cosas ‘artificiales’ más sofisticadas se hacen con los recursos que este entorno nos está brindando, no estamos creando nueva materia, sólo cambiamos, modificamos, destruimos y reconfiguramos eso, como todos los demás organismos vivos en este planeta), entonces esta forma de casa puede ser vista como un hormiguero. Es una solución sofisticada que puede protegernos del entorno natural, llegamos a esa solución no porque sea bonita, si no algo funcional.

The origin on the idea came from a very simple reflection about this very symbolic house shape, that for western cultures is an iconic image that we learn since we are very young to refer to house or home. I see that basic house shape as one simple but charged full of human cultural symbolism. But when we see houses with that shape, the last thing that we think is that it is a natural organic construction.
The first thing that we probably think is that it is a non-organic, human made, industrialised structure, but if we rethink a bit we are another animal of this world, all things that we are producing and creating (even the more sophisticated ‘artificial things’ are made with the resources that this environment is giving us, we are not creating new matter, we just change, modify, destroy and reconfigure that, as all the other live organisms in this planet), then this house shape can be seen as an anthill. Then it is a sophisticated solution that can protect us from the natural environment, we arrive at that solution not because it is nice, it is something functional.
